AI Data Processing
What data is collected: The content of messages you type into the app.
How it is collected: Entered directly by you during a conversation.
How it is used: Your messages are sent to OpenAI's GPT-4o API solely to generate conversational responses. They are used for no other purpose.
Who it is shared with: OpenAI (openai.com), which processes messages to generate AI responses and provides equivalent data protection under its own privacy policy.
What is not collected: We do not collect account data, device identifiers, location, or any personal profile information.
Conversation history: Your conversations are stored locally on your device only. They are never transmitted to CouldaWouldaShoulda's servers.
Overview
CouldaWouldaShoulda ("the App") is designed with privacy at its core. Your personal reflections are yours alone. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and what we do — and do not — store.
Data We Collect
Conversation data: All conversations are stored locally on your device using your device's local storage. We do not have access to this data. It never leaves your device except as described below.
AI responses: When you send a message, the content of your conversation is sent to OpenAI's API solely to generate a response. OpenAI's own privacy policy governs how they handle this data. We do not store or log these messages on our servers.
Purchase data: In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not collect or store your payment information.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not require an account or sign-in.
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- We do not sell or share any data with third parties (other than OpenAI for response generation).
- We do not store your conversations on any server operated by CouldaWouldaShoulda or CoLedger.
Third-Party Services
OpenAI: Your conversation messages are sent to OpenAI to generate AI responses. Please review OpenAI's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle data.
Data Retention & Deletion
Since conversation data is stored only on your device, you can delete it at any time by deleting the App. We have no ability to recover or delete data stored on your device.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
